Community and delicious hot food at SEACC this winter.
Fulham’s best foot forward for local residents
From January through to March this year, SEACC was pleased to be able to to offer free food, hot drinks, craft and activities to members of our local community. Thanks to funding from H&F Giving’s Winter Fund, the programme ran for 20 weeks – providing hot food and company at the coldest, and often loneliest time of year.
Upon completion of the funding, we were looking for ways to continue the programme and are delighted to announce a new partnership with Fulham Football Club Foundation and the Hurlingham Foundation, which will see the programme continue for at least the next three years.
We were recently lucky enough to be visited by 2 Fulham Football Club men’s team players, Harrison Reed and Timothy Castagne, and 2 Fulham Football Club women’s team players, Stella Gandee Morgan and Olivia Dale, who came and spent the afternoon with some of our Wednesday Club participants for a special Fulham Memories social. In an afternoon of Halloween themed fun and games, our Wednesday Club group participants met participants from other Fulham Memories sessions along with the FFC representatives, and the whole thing was captured for a special BBC Match of the Day feature. You can see the short film they made below.
Laura Everton, of the Fulham Foundation said: “the film is brilliant and really highlights the participants and how everyone’s looked after at Sands End Arts & Community Centre”.
If you would like to join the Wednesday Club, just drop into the centre on Wednesdays at 11am. There is an hour and a half session of quizzes and gentle chair based exercise, followed by a free hot meal at 12.30pm.
